Sono Decibel Noise Meter ("Sono", "the app") is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.
Sono requires microphone access to measure ambient sound levels. Audio from the microphone is processed entirely on your device in real time. No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted. The app only calculates decibel levels from the audio signal — it does not capture or retain any sound content.
Measurement sessions (timestamps and decibel values) are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it using the share or export feature.
If you enable Apple Health integration, Sono writes environmental sound level data to the Health app on your device. This data is governed by Apple's Health privacy policies and is not accessible to us.
Sono does not include any analytics frameworks, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools. We do not collect:
Sono does not integrate with any third-party services that collect user data. The app functions entirely offline.
Sono does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app does not require account creation or any personal data input.
If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
